Legendary music composer Ennio Morricone passes away

Ennio Morricone, the Italian composer whose haunting scores to Spaghetti Westerns like A Fistful of Dollars and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly helped outline a cinematic period, has died Italian information company ANSA mentioned on Monday. He was 91.

Ansa mentioned Morricone had damaged his femur some days in the past and died through the evening in a clinic in Rome.

Born in Rome in 1928, Morricone wrote scores for some 400 movies however his title was most intently linked with the director Sergio Leone with whom he labored on the now-classic Spaghetti Westerns in addition to Once Upon a Time in America.

Morricone labored in virtually all movie genres — from horror to comedy — and a few of his melodies are maybe extra well-known than the movies he wrote them for.
