Australia postpone August one-dayers against Zimbabwe – cricket

Australia and Zimbabwe have agreed to postpone three one-day internationals in August due to the issue of placing on the sequence whereas the brand new coronavirus pandemic continues, Cricket Australia (CA) stated on Tuesday. Zimbabwe have been on account of play the primary match at a venue but to be decided within the far north of Australia on August 9 with an additional conflict three days later and a ultimate fixture in Townsville on August 15. CA stated in a press release that the choice was mutually agreed and that they remained dedicated to enjoying the sequence on “alternative dates”.

“While we are disappointed to postpone the series, CA and (Zimbabwe Cricket) agree that in the best interest of players, match officials, volunteers as well as our fans, this is the most practical and sensible decision,” stated CA’s Nick Hockley.

Australia final performed a world match on March 13, after they beat New Zealand behind closed doorways on the Sydney Cricket Ground simply earlier than the novel coronavirus outbreak compelled the shutdown of all sport.

England’s director of cricket Ashley Giles stated final week that he was “quietly confident” Australia would conform to play a one-day sequence in Britain in September.
